Max Lee is an agent at United Talent Agency, and has represented DJ’s and live acts for over a decade. In my time as an artist manager from 2013-2024 we worked together on Royal-T, DJ Q and Flava D as well as my own DJ gigs with Skilliam.
I’ve written several iterations of idea ‘Agent’s don’t get you bookings’ because this area of the industry is spoken about a lot less publicly, especially for smaller acts, and DJs.
I ask Max to explain industry terms you hear artists use publicly a lot now like ‘headline show’, ‘hard ticket’ and ‘billing’ and wanted to use this conversation to give people an insight into how an agent thinks about live in 2026.
It should be a useful conversation for artists at any stage of their journey, that is looking for, or thinking about what an agent can do for their career.
